Over 1 billion people worldwide live in dense urban settlements, often informal. A fire here doesn’t just damage a home. It unravels everything that home stands for — safety, livelihood, childhood, stability.
In dense urban settlements where homes stand shoulder to shoulder, fires move faster than help. Access lanes are narrow. Infrastructure is thin. Emergency response is slow or unreachable.
For millions of families, the question is not if a fire will happen but when.
That reality forces a difficult truth. In the places that need protection the most, protection rarely arrives in time.
ExFire was created for those places.
To move fire safety out of emergency services and into the walls themselves.
Of fire-related deaths occur in low and middle-income countries (WHO, 2018).
People rendered homeless and 4,106 homes destroyed by fire in India in 2022–23 (Housing and Land Rights Network, 2024).

How Ex Fire
Works
Inside every brick sits a sealed metallic micro-chamber, pre-loaded with fire-suppressant material. It is designed to remain stable in everyday conditions and ready the moment extreme heat from fire appears.
When exposed to fire, the heat sensitive trigger plates respond to rising temperature. This triggers a controlled micro explosion to release the fire suppressant automatically, without electricity or human intervention.
The suppressant disperses directly at the ignition point, reducing flame intensity and slowing spread before the fire can escalate. The structure of the wall remains intact, allowing the brick to be refilled and reused.
